Before anything gets built, planted, or parked on a piece of land, the ground has to be ready. That is the work we do. From our base in Alachua, we clear and prepare land for homeowners, landowners, and commercial customers across North Florida.
Below is a quick look at each service, with a link to the full page for each. If you are not sure which one you need, that is normal. Call us at (352) 756-0010 and we will talk through your property with you. Estimates are free.
Land clearing removes trees, brush, and overgrowth so the property can be used. It suits a lot that has never been touched, acreage that has grown up over the years, or a stretch you want opened for a home, pasture, or access road.
Site preparation gets a piece of land ready to build on. It covers the work between raw ground and a construction start, such as clearing the building area and shaping the ground so the next crew can do their part. We prepare sites for houses, sheds, and commercial buildings.
Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush into mulch right where they stand, so there is no need to haul off or burn piles. It is a common choice for clearing wooded lots and thick undergrowth.
A driveway is the first thing people drive over and the first thing that shows wear. We build and rework driveways, and we can also set culverts and culvert pipe where a driveway crosses a ditch or low spot.
A house pad is the leveled, prepared area a home sits on. Getting it right at the start makes every step after it easier. We build house pads for new homes and other structures.
Grading shapes and levels the ground so it sits the way you need it to. We use laser leveling with our site prep and grading work. It is useful for building areas, drive areas, and open ground that needs to be brought to a uniform grade.
Bush hogging uses a tractor and a heavy mower to cut down tall grass, weeds, and light brush. It is a practical way to bring a neglected field, fence line, or lot back under control.
Most land projects need more than one step, and the order matters. A few common combinations:
Clearing, then site prep, then a house pad. Clear the trees and brush, prepare the building area, then build the pad the home will sit on.
Forestry mulching, then grading. Mulch a wooded lot in place, then grade it to the shape you need.
Bush hogging, then land clearing. Knock down tall growth first so the ground can be seen before a bigger clearing job.
Grading and a driveway. Shape the ground and build the drive, with culverts where water needs a way through.
Because we handle all of these ourselves, you deal with one crew from the first pass to the finished ground. If you tell us the end goal, we can help you figure out which steps make sense and in what order.
How to know which service you need
Start with what you want the land to become, then work backward.
You want to build a home or a shed: site preparation and a house pad, with clearing first if the area is wooded.
Your land is thick with trees and brush: land clearing or forestry mulching is usually where things begin.
Your field or lot is overgrown but mostly open: bush hogging is often enough.
You need a way in: a driveway, with culverts if the route crosses a ditch or low spot.
The ground is uneven or holds water in places: land grading, with laser leveling where a flat, even surface matters.
If your situation falls between two of these, that is common. We can sort out which fits once we see the property.
What shapes the size of a job
No two properties are alike. The size of the area, how thick the growth is, what the ground is like, how easily equipment can get in, the weather, and what the land will be used for afterward all change how a job is done. That is why we give estimates after learning about your property instead of quoting from a chart.
Commercial and residential
We take on both. A homeowner clearing a few acres and a business preparing a site have different needs, but the ground work is much the same. Scope and timing depend on the property, and we look at each one before we quote it.
